LAHORE: Pakistan Railways has revised the departure schedule of several passenger trains originating from Lahore and Faisalabad after dense fog disrupted rail operations across parts of Punjab on Tuesday.

According to railway officials, reduced visibility during the early hours caused delays for a number of long-distance trains traveling to major cities such as Karachi, Quetta, and Rawalpindi. Passengers have been advised to check updated timings before reaching stations.

Among the affected services:

  • Karakoram Express (42-Down) bound for Karachi will now depart from Lahore at 4:00 PM, an hour later than its original scheduled time of 3:00 PM.
  • Pak Business Express (34-Down) to Karachi has been delayed by one hour and 45 minutes and is now scheduled to leave at 6:15 PM instead of 4:30 PM.
  • Karachi Express (16-Down) will depart from Lahore at 7:30 PM, reflecting a delay of one and a half hours from its original departure time of 6:00 PM.
  • Multan Express (18-Down) traveling from Faisalabad to Karachi has also been affected and will now leave at 6:50 PM, one hour later than its previously scheduled time of 5:50 PM.

Railway authorities confirmed that other train services, including those heading toward Karachi, Quetta, and Rawalpindi, are currently operating as per their normal schedules.

Divisional Superintendent of Railways Lahore, Inamullah, said that passenger facilitation staff have been directed to remain present at stations to guide and assist travelers during the disruption. He added that efforts are being made to minimise inconvenience and ensure the safety of passengers amid ongoing foggy conditions.
