Security forces conclude province-wide operations in Balochistan
Earlier on Saturday, forces completed large-scale counterterrorism operations across multiple areas of Balochistan, killing 133 militants over the past two days, according to security sources. The operations were launched in response to coordinated attacks at 12 different locations in the province, which officials said were carried out by militants linked to Fitna-ul-Hindustan.
Sources said timely action by security forces and law enforcement agencies successfully foiled all the attacks, preventing further escalation. During the initial phase of the operations, 92 militants were neutralised, while a further 41 were killed in follow-up actions over the next 48 hours, taking the total militant death toll to 133.
However, the operations also resulted in significant losses. Fifteen personnel from the security forces and police embraced martyrdom during the clashes, while 18 civilians were killed in the violence. Among the civilian victims were five members of a Baloch labourer family from Khuzdar, who were reportedly martyred in Gwadar.
Authorities said the operations were carried out at various locations across the province and have now been concluded. Security sources added that assessments to determine further militant losses and damage are still under way. Law enforcement agencies continue to closely monitor the situation and are maintaining intelligence-based operations to prevent any future attacks.
