WEB DESK: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry on Friday held an interactive session with students and faculty members from various universities and seminaries in Mardan to discuss national security, regional dynamics and the country’s efforts to promote peace.

The session was attended by representatives from Abdul Wali Khan University, Women University Mardan, the University of Engineering and Technology, and local madaris. Earlier this week, Lt Sharif also engaged with students of GIKI.

During the discussion, Lt Gen Chaudhry said Pakistan had taken effective measures against terrorism and extremist elements, adding that the armed forces and the public stood united against any form of aggression.

Teachers and students paid tribute to the country’s martyrs and lauded the military’s role in maintaining peace and contributing to national development. Many participants said the interaction helped dispel misconceptions about the armed forces and offered insight into how hostile actors use social media to spread anti-state propaganda.

Students reaffirmed their commitment to stand alongside the army in defending Pakistan’s sovereignty and stability, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which they said continued to play a vital role in ensuring the country’s security.
