Dialogue, diplomacy crucial for peace, Sharif tells Saudi Crown Prince

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a telephone conversation on Wednesday, reaffirming full cooperation and solidarity between the two countries amid ongoing regional challenges, including the tense situation in Yemen.

The Saudi Crown Prince expressed his desire to make an official visit to Pakistan next year, underscoring Riyadh’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the two leaders exchanged cordial and warm greetings, with Prime Minister Sharif conveying his respect and best wishes to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The prime minister also thanked the Crown Prince for his friendship, goodwill, and support for Pakistan.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the longstanding fraternal relations that have reached new heights in recent months.

They also discussed the current regional situation and recent developments, highlighting the need for unity and harmony among Muslim nations in the face of various challenges.

Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, stressing that dialogue and diplomacy are essential for maintaining regional peace and stability.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman thanked the Pakistani Prime Minister for the conversation and reiterated Saudi Arabia’s desire to deepen cooperation with Pakistan across all areas of mutual interest.

The call comes amid heightened tensions in Yemen, where Saudi Arabia recently asked the United Arab Emirates to withdraw its forces, adding to the regional security dynamics that both Islamabad and Riyadh continue to monitor closely.
