Digital terrorism case filed against entire PTI social media team


ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has filed a cyber-terrorism case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Raoof Hasan and eleven other members of PTI’s social media team for alleged anti-state digital campaigns.

The Federal Investigation Agency at its CTD Police Station filed the case under sections 9, and 10,11 of PECA 2016, revealed the report.

These revelations were made in FIA’s report on PTI Information Secretary Raoof Hasan who was arrested by police earlier this week.

The ICT police and FIA claimed that PTI was involved in “anti-state propaganda” where one of twelve individuals booked under sections 9 (glorification of an offence), 10 (cyber-terrorism) and 11 (electronic forgery) of the Peca by the FIA’s cybercrime wing admitted that they were running anti-state agenda on directions of PTI leaders from Pakistan as well as from abroad.

Meanwhile, PTI’s legal team questioned the legality of this case saying that “all charges against the PTI social media team and its leaders are fabricated.”

The FIA’s findings submitted to the court in the shape of FIR, etc. drop a bombshell on many in PTI.
