‘Disclosure Day’ trailer reveals Steven Spielberg’s mysterious alien thriller

The first trailer for Steven Spielberg’s new sci-fi film Disclosure Day has dropped, teasing a chilling alien conspiracy and a whistleblower who risks everything to reveal a secret that could change humanity forever.

The upcoming film, directed by Steven Spielberg, centres on a cybersecurity administrator played by Josh O’Connor who is preparing to leak explosive information he has been paid to protect.

That secret? Humanity may not be alone in the universe.

But once he decides to reveal the truth, he appears to find himself caught in a dangerous battle involving powerful forces determined to keep the information hidden.

A conspiracy bigger than anyone expected

The trailer hints at a sprawling mystery filled with strange technology, disturbing visions and possible extraterrestrial contact.

Emily Blunt plays a Kansas City television meteorologist who suddenly begins making unexplained clicking sounds during a live broadcast, suggesting something unusual may have happened to her.

Meanwhile, another key figure played by Eve Hewson becomes pulled into the unfolding conspiracy.

A mysterious administrator portrayed by Colin Firth appears to possess a powerful machine that allows him to project himself anywhere in the world while also manipulating minds.

Classic Spielberg alien mystery returns

The footage is packed with unsettling imagery including crop circles carved into farmland, a glowing doorway in the woods and a mysterious deer guiding a young girl toward an unknown light.

The tone has already drawn comparisons to Spielberg’s classic alien films such as E.T. the Extra‑Terrestrial and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, both of which helped define the director’s legacy in the genre.

The screenplay was written by David Koepp, who previously collaborated with Spielberg on Jurassic Park.

Additional cast members include Colman Domingo and Wyatt Russell.

Disclosure Day is set to arrive in cinemas on June 12.
