Doctor fired from Bahrain hospital for pro Israel comments


WEB DESK: A doctor working at Royal Bahrain Hospital has been fired for making pro-Israel comments on his ‘X’ profile, previously known as Twitter.

The hospital also distanced itself from the comments made by Dr Sunil Rao.

“It has come to our attention that Dr Sunil Rao who is working as a Specialist in Internal Medicine has posted tweets on social media platforms that are offensive to our society,” the statement issued by the hospital read.

“We would like to confirm that his tweets and ideology are personal and do not reflect the opinion and values of the Hospital. This is a violation of our code of conduct and we have taken the necessary legal actions and his services have been terminated with immediate effect.”

Separately, in a humanitarian effort, Russia dispatched 27 tonnes of aid to assist civilians in the Gaza Strip, as confirmed by Moscow’s emergency situations ministry on Thursday.

The aid, including essential supplies such as wheat, sugar, rice, and pasta, was loaded onto a special plane that departed from Ramenskoye airport near Moscow, destined for El-Arish in Egypt.
