Dollar further depreciates against Pakistani rupee

KARACHI: The US dollar saw a decrease in value against the Pakistani rupee in the interbank market on Monday, marking a drop of 11 paisa, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

The dollar concluded trading at Rs278.63, down from its opening value of Rs278.60 earlier in the day. At the beginning of trading, the dollar had experienced a decrease of 14 paisa.

Last week, on the final day of trading, the dollar had closed at Rs278.74 in the interbank market.

Meanwhile, the price of gold in Pakistan witnessed a consecutive decrease for the second day in a row.

The All Pakistan Gems and Jewelers Association reported a reduction of Rs600 per tola, with the new price set at Rs226,900.

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold decreased by Rs515, reaching Rs194,530.

In the global market, gold experienced a decline of $5, reaching $2170 per ounce.
