ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan announced on Tuesday that he is closing the door to dialogue with the establishment.

Khan stated that while the party has always been open to discussions in the past, he is now shutting down these negotiations.

The former Prime Minister revealed that six PTI members had been engaged in talks with the establishment. Despite the lack of official permission, Khan affirmed that PTI will proceed with a rally in Lahore on September 21.

He voiced strong support for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (CM) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, praising him for effectively representing the nation’s sentiments during the September 8 rally.

Khan criticised party members who apologized for Gandapur’s statement, labelling them as cowards and insisting that such individuals should not remain in the party.

Imran Khan’s party successfully held a rally in Islamabad on September 8, despite clashes with the capital’s police that resulted in injuries to dozens of policemen and PTI workers.

Authorities had granted PTI permission for the public gathering on Sunday. However, they had also transformed Islamabad into a fortified city, using shipping containers to block all roads leading to neighbouring Rawalpindi in anticipation of the rally. Additionally, over 6,000 personnel from the police and the Frontier Constabulary (FC) were stationed along the routes

On Monday night, just a day after PTI’s major rally in Sangjani, law enforcement agencies raided the party’s top leadership. At least three key members were arrested from various locations across the federal capital.
