Drunk driver kills two, injures three near Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine

KARACHI: In a tragic incident in Karachi’s Clifton area, a car struck pedestrians sleeping on a footpath near the Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine, resulting in the deaths of two people and injuries to four others.

Rescue teams quickly rushed the victims to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Police reported that the driver of the car was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. The driver and a companion, both injured in the crash, were taken into custody from the hospital.

The accident also involved a high-speed collision with a motorbike, leading to the death of the motorcyclist.

According to a news report by Aaj News, the authorities identified the deceased as Kareem and Shabbir, while the injured include Mudassir, Shakeel, Ahad, and Tahir.

Law enforcement officials have launched a formal investigation, emphasizing the dangers of reckless driving, especially under the influence of alcohol.
