E-payment platform launched for G-B govt bills, levies

GILGIT: The Gilgit-Baltistan government on Monday launched GB Pay, a digital payment platform designed to streamline government payments.

GB Pay serves as an aggregator for government bills and levies, allowing citizens to pay their electricity bills, vehicle tokens, traffic challans, and other government fees easily through multiple channels, including ATMs, mobile banking, internet banking, over-the-counter services, and retail agents.

A launching ceremony was organized in Islamabad in this regard, with Gilgit-Baltistan Governor Syed Mehdi Shah as the chief guest.

The event was attended by GB Assembly Speaker Nazir Ahmed, G-B Minister for Finance Engineer Ismael, and G-B Secretary of Finance.

State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Deputy Governor Saleem Ullah, SBP Director of Finance, and 1-Link CEO and COO also participated in the event.

G-B Secretary Finance Aziz Jamali briefed the event about GB Pay and its importance in transforming revenue collection across GB.

He appreciated the efforts of the partners and GB Pay team.

SBP Deputy Governor Saleem Ullah expressed his satisfaction with the technological achievement by the G-B government.

On this occasion, a tripartite agreement was also signed to ensure the effective implementation of the project.
