ISLAMABAD: Earthquake tremors were felt in Islamabad and several parts of Pakistan, causing panic among residents.
Shaking was also reported in Peshawar, Abbottabad, and Charsadda, where people rushed out of homes and buildings for safety.
In northern regions, Bajaur, Shangla, and Battagram also experienced noticeable earthquake shocks.
According to the Seismological Centre, the earthquake measured 5.3 in magnitude with a depth of 174 kilometres.
The epicentre was located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan, officials from the Seismological Centre confirmed.
