Earthquake tremors felt in parts of Balochistan

SWAT: Several earthquake tremors were felt on Tuesday evening in the Swat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reports said.

According to the Seismological Centre, the quake in Swat registered a magnitude of 4 on the Richter scale, with a depth of 18 kilometres. Its epicentre was reported in the Hindu Kush mountain range.

Meanwhile, the tremors caused panic among locals, many of whom rushed out of their homes reciting the Kalima Tayyiba.

The authorities have confirmed that no casualties or property damage have been reported so far. Citizens have been advised to stay alert and cautious.

It was the first quake that occurred in the ongoing month, after the Balochistan quake felt in December 2025.

In December, tremors were also felt in Barkhan and nearby areas of Balochistan, with a source saying no immediate reports of casualties or damage had been received.

The earthquake measured 4.2 in magnitude and occurred at a depth of 25 kilometres, the Seismological Centre had reported.
