ECP establishes appellate tribunals for by-elections

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has established appellate tribunals for the by-elections.

According to the ECP, decisions of the returning officers related to nomination papers for by-elections can be challenged in the appellate tribunals.

The appellate tribunals have been set up for the by-elections in Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Justice Naeem Anwar, Justice Shakeel Ahmad, and Justice Fazal Subhan will hear the cases as an appellate tribunal.

In Sindh, Justice Shamsuddin Abbasi will hear the cases as the appellate tribunal. In Balochistan, Justice Amir Nawaz Rana will hear cases as the appellate tribunal.

In Punjab, Justice Shahid Karim, Justice Sarfraz Dogar, Justice Ahmad Nadeem and Justice Mirza Waqas Rauf will hear cases as the appellate tribunal.

The by-elections on 23 vacated seats of the national and provincial assemblies will be held on April 21.
