ECP schedules Islamabad local govt elections for February 15

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced the schedule for local government elections here, confirming that polling will take place on February 15.

According to the commission, Returning Officers will issue the public notice for nomination papers on December 19 and candidates may submit their nomination papers from December 22 to 27.

Scrutiny of the papers will be held from December 30 to January 3, 2026, while appeals against the scrutiny process can be filed from January 5 to 8. The tribunals will decide these appeals between January 9 and 13.

The last date for withdrawing nomination papers is January 15, 2026. The final list of candidates will be displayed on January 16, the same day election symbols will be allotted.
