Educational institutions reopen after week ‘long’ break

ISLAMABAD: After a week-long closure due to the general elections, educational institutions across Pakistan resumed classes on Monday.

This break, spanning from February 6 to 9, impacted both private and public schools, colleges, and universities nationwide.

It should be noted that it was Saturday and Sunday on February 3 and 4 respectively, February 5 was already a public holiday on account of Kashmir Day and February 10 and 11 are falling in the weekend. So, the educational institutions remained shut for nine days.

Initially, schools in Punjab were operating on a delayed schedule, starting at 9:30 am, due to prevalent fog and smog conditions until February 3.

However, they returned to their regular timing of 8:30 am upon reopening on Monday.
