QUETTA: Security forces have killed eight terrorists in three intelligence-based operations in Balochistan’s Panjpai, Nushki and Khuzdar areas, while recovering 490 kilogrammes of explosives from a hideout in Khuzdar, the military’s media wing said.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), five terrorists were killed in Panjpai, two in Nushki and one in Khuzdar during operations targeting what it described as members of the Indian-sponsored terrorist network Fitna al-Hindustan.
In Panjpai, security forces thwarted an attempt by terrorists to block a road, killing five of them during the ensuing operation, the ISPR said.
In Nushki, security forces destroyed a terrorist hideout during an exchange of fire, killing two terrorists. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the site, according to the statement.
In a separate operation in Khuzdar, one terrorist was killed, while 490kg of explosives were recovered from a terrorist hideout, the ISPR said.
The military’s media wing added that clearance operations were under way in the affected areas to locate and eliminate any remaining terrorists and their accomplices.

It said the counterterrorism campaign under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, would continue to eliminate what it described as foreign-sponsored terrorism.

In a statement, Naqvi said the successes against terrorists and their facilitators were commendable, adding that those involved in terrorism and their supporters would find no place to hide.
He said the nation stood shoulder to shoulder with security forces in efforts to eliminate terrorism from the country.
