Electricity restoration in flood-hit areas: Power Division issues latest stats

ISLAMABAD: The Power Division has released a detailed update on electricity restoration efforts in areas affected by recent flooding, showing significant progress in repairing damaged infrastructure and restoring power to thousands of consumers.
According to the report, a total of 51 grid stations and 588 feeders were impacted by the floods across several regions. Restoration efforts are well underway, with 356 feeders fully restored and 225 feeders partially operational as of September 21.

The report highlights that power restoration has been fully completed in Swat, Swabi, and Dera Ismail Khan, bringing relief to residents in these severely affected areas.
In regions managed by Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO), 28 grids and 81 feeders were affected. Out of these, 57 feeders have been fully restored and 24 partially restored.
Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) reported 67 feeders affected, of which 66 have been fully restored and one is partially functional. Power supply to 441 affected LESCO consumers is expected to be fully restored by September 22. Restoration efforts have also been completed in Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, and Okara, according to the Power Division.
Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) reported 181 feeders affected, with 23 fully restored and 151 partially restored, indicating ongoing efforts to complete the process.
Meanwhile, in the region served by Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO), 11 grids and 103 feeders were impacted. The report states that 101 feeders have been fully restored and 2 partially restored.

The Power Division said that field teams continue to work tirelessly to ensure full restoration of power in all flood-impacted areas. Coordination with local authorities and emergency services remains ongoing to expedite recovery and minimise disruptions for the public.
