Eleven terrorists killed in security operations in Balochistan: ISPR

Following intelligence-based operations in Balochistan’s Kharan and Washuk districts, security forces killed 11 terrorists affiliated with the ‘Indian-sponsored proxy group Fitna al-Hindustan’, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In Kharan, security forces foiled an attempt by the terrorists to block a road. An immediate response by the forces resulted in the killing of eight terrorists, the ISPR said. In Washuk, three terrorists were killed during another intelligence-based operation, while their hideout was destroyed, according to the military’s media wing.

Security forces also recovered a large quantity of explosives from the site. The ISPR said 2.9 tonnes of explosives were seized and were being used to manufacture improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

A clearance operation is under way in the area to eliminate any other terrorists, the ISPR said.

The military said security forces and law enforcement agencies were continuing operations against terrorism under the government’s Azm-e-Istehkam initiative.

“The complete elimination of terrorism being carried out with foreign patronage and assistance will be ensured,” the ISPR said.

Last week on September 4, the security forces had killed 48 terrorists in multiple operations across Balochistan over the preceding three days.

The operations were conducted in Mastung, Quetta, Kalat and Sibi districts against groups the military described as ‘Indian proxies, including Fitna-al-Hindustan and Fitna-al-Khawarij’. In Mastung, six ‘Indian-sponsored terrorists’ were killed during an intelligence-based operation, while ammunition and improvised explosive devices were also recovered.

In Quetta’s Shaban area, security forces identified four alleged Khawarij hideouts and killed 26 terrorists in an exchange of fire, according to the ISPR. Two more terrorists were killed during an operation against a hideout in Kalat. In Sibi’s Bhag area, security forces also foiled an attempted attack on a local police station, killing two terrorists, the military said.
