Embassy officials visit hostel in Kyrgyzstan, meet Pakistani students

BISHKEK: Pakistani embassy officials visited a hostel in Bishkek on Saturday to inquire about the well-being of Pakistani students who were among several foreigners subjected to mob violence late Friday night.

The officials also met with the hostel administration.

Separately, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch has resumed her duties after more than 16 hours. She also urged people to share factual information regarding the violence in Kyrgyzstan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has voiced serious concern regarding the situation unfolding in Kyrgyzstan and has instructed the Pakistani Ambassador to extend every possible support to Pakistani students.

The Prime Minister personally contacted the Pakistani ambassador in Kyrgyzstan, instructing him to visit the hostels and engage with the students to provide assistance and reassurance.
