ENG vs PAK: England set 389-run target for Pakistan in Lord’s Test

WEB DESK: England set Pakistan a target of 389 runs to win the second Test of the three-match series at Lord’s on Sunday.

England resumed their second innings at 177 for seven on the third day but were eventually bowled out for 208, leaving Pakistan with a challenging target to level the series.

Dan Lawrence top-scored for England with 54 runs, while Harry Brook contributed 34. Emilio Gay scored 31 and Jordan Cox made 11.

Pakistan’s bowlers kept England’s batting under pressure throughout the innings, with Mohammad Abbas leading the attack. Abbas claimed five wickets in England’s second innings, while Mohammad Ali and Khurram Shahzad took two wickets each.

Abbas had earlier taken four wickets in England’s first innings, taking his match tally to nine wickets.

England were bowled out for 290 in their first innings after Pakistan’s bowlers delivered a strong performance.

However, Pakistan struggled with the bat and were dismissed for just 110 runs. Aizaan Awais was the only national team batter to offer significant resistance, scoring 46 runs, while Saud Shakeel made 16 and captain Babar Azam managed eight.

England’s bowlers dominated Pakistan’s innings, with Ollie Robinson taking four wickets and Jofra Archer claiming three.

England currently lead the three-match series 1-0 after securing a dominant innings-and-103-run victory in the opening Test in Leeds.
