ENG VS SCOT: England clinch T20 World Cup's 18th match by 5 wickets

KOLKATA: The ENG VS SCOT clash saw middle order batter Tom Banton announced as Player of the Match after providing unbeaten 63 runs, when England chased 152-run total against Scotland in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup tonight.

During the ENG VS SCOT clash, England got a challenging total after Michael Jones (33 off 20), Skipper Richie Berrington (49 off 32) and Tom Bruce (24 off 18) brought the Harry Brook captained team under a huge pressure.

However, the game went like tit for tat especially when the England’s middle batters gained energy after the early fall of Phil Salt and Jos Buttler.

Jacob Bethell added 32 off 28 studded with 2 fours and 1 long hit, while Tom Banton added 63 off 41 deliveries featuring 4 boundaries and 2 sixes.

The batting line didn’t stop here as the chase was still going with big gap. Lower order Sam Curran and Will Jacks added 28 off 20 balls and 16 off 10 deliveries, leaving their team victory at an 11-run difference.

Thanks to the Seven extras conceded by the SCOT bowlers and four runs made by skipper Harry Brook, as that clinched the game in the 18th clash of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup tonight.

During the England’s fielding, Adil Rashid was the star performer as he finished with figures of 3-36 in four overs. The team’s Liam Dawson and Jofra Archer also took two wickets each, while Sam Curran and Jamie Overton chipped in with one wicket apiece.
