ENHYPEN member Heeseung exits K-pop group to launch solo career

Heeseung

ENHYPEN member Heeseung is leaving the globally popular K-pop group, with the singer announcing he will step away from the band to focus on his own music.

The news was confirmed on March 10 by the group’s agency Belift Lab, which said the decision followed extensive conversations about the artist’s future direction.

In a statement shared on ENHYPEN’s official social media channels, the label said Heeseung had developed a “distinct musical vision” and that both sides agreed it was time for him to pursue it independently.

Heeseung also addressed fans directly in a message posted on the fan platform Weverse, reflecting on his years with the group and expressing gratitude to supporters known as ENGENEs.

“The past six years have been filled with moments that are difficult to put into words,” he wrote. “They were overwhelmingly meaningful and incredibly precious to me.”

He added that the memories created with the group and its fans would remain among the most important experiences of his life.

Why Heeseung is leaving ENHYPEN

According to the agency, the departure is tied to Heeseung’s plans to build a solo music career.

The singer said he has spent considerable time working on personal material and discussing how to present it with the company.

“Over time, I shared the work I had been creating and we spent a long time discussing how it could best be introduced,” he wrote.

“After thinking deeply about it, I made a big decision in line with the direction we discussed.”

Heeseung also said he had long tried to balance his personal ambitions with the group’s activities.

“I didn’t want my own goals to come before the team,” he wrote.

Will ENHYPEN continue as a group?

ENHYPEN will continue performing as a six-member group following Heeseung’s departure.

The remaining members are Jungwon, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo and Ni-Ki.

The group was originally formed in 2020 through the reality competition programme I-LAND and quickly became one of the most successful newer acts in K-pop.

ENHYPEN’s recent global success

The group has seen major international growth over the past two years.

In 2025, ENHYPEN made its US television debut with a performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and also appeared at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival for the first time.

They later returned to North America as part of their Walk the Line world tour.

Their most recent album, The Sin: Vanish, released in January 2026, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The band also recently released a concert film titled ENHYPEN [WALK THE LINE SUMMER EDITION] IN CINEMAS, capturing performances from the tour.

What’s next for Heeseung?

Heeseung is now preparing his solo debut and will remain signed to Belift Lab, the Hybe sub-label that manages ENHYPEN.

In his message to fans, the singer said he hopes to return soon with new music and projects.

“My sincere hope is to meet you again with an even better version of myself,” he wrote.
