The movie is slated for release on June 7 and will unite iconic duo Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. The movie is directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, also known as Adil & Bilall. The directing duo has produced a few gems, having helmed movies such as “Gangsta” in 2018 and “Bad Boys for Life” in 2020.

The plot of the fourth installment in the “Bad Boys” franchise revolves around Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) stuck in a small market, while their bossis wrongly implicated as a long-time drug smuggler.

In the storyline of the fourth entry in the “Bad Boys” series, Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) find themselves held up in a convenience store, while their superior is falsely accused of being a drug trafficker.

The trailer delighted fans with raunchy and over-the-top action scenes the franchise is famous for. Burning cars, intense highway chases, and crashing helicopters did not disappoint the fans hoping a return of the series for a while now.

The trailer thrilled fans with its signature raunchy and over-the-top action sequences – blazing vehicles, adrenaline-fueled highway pursuits, and helicopter collisions. These explosive action in the trailer alone lived up to the expectations of fans who have eagerly awaited the return of the beloved series.

Chris Bremner penned the screenplay for the film, which features a stellar cast alongside the main characters. Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Tasha Smith, and Joe Pantoliano were cast for the fourth entry in the series.

Analysts expect Bad Boys 4: Ride or Die to perform well at the box office, reminiscent of the success its predecessors enjoyed. The franchise has grossed a combined $841 million globally.

The Bad Boys franchise began in 1995. The “Transformers” director Michael Bay returned to direct the sequel “Bad Boys II” in 2003.

The third installment in the franchise Bad Boys for Life released in 2020 and was one of the last movies to receive a wide theatrical release before the Covid-19 pandemic forced cinemas to shut down.

The film also marks Will Smith’s return to cinema following a highly controversial incident at the Oscars in 2022, where he slapped Chris Rock on stage. Despite this, Smith went on to win the Best Actor Academy Award.

Hollywood has planned multiple sequels for various famous franchises in 2024. Ridley Scott’s Alien franchise has a sequel slated for August release titled “Alien: Romulus”.

Similarly, Tim Burton’s cult classic from the ‘80s “Beetlejuice” recently had a “first look’’ release by Entertainment Weekly for a sequel titled “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”. And even the famous Marvel’s animated series “X-Men: The Animated Series” earned a direct sequel, picking up right where the older series left off. The new animated series premiered on Disney+ under the new name “X-Men ’97”.
