Erdogan likely to visit Pakistan next month

ISLAMABAD: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to undertake an official visit to Pakistan in the first week of August, according to diplomatic sources.

Turkish President will be accompanied by a high-level delegation including Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

During the visit, Erdogan will hold a meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in which matters pertaining to mutual interest will be discussed.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto will also hold a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan.

The two-brotherly countries are expected to sign a range of Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) for enhancing economic and trade cooperation in different sectors.

Last month, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif travelled to Ankara to attend inauguration ceremony of President Erdogan after he triumphed in a closely fought presidential run-off election.

During his visit, Shehbaz Sharif had said bilateral trade between Pakistan and Turkey has the potential to reach $5 billion annually in the next three years.
