Former National Assembly Deputy Speaker and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Qasim Khan Suri has said that he is driving Uber in the United States, earning a living through honest means, which carries dignity, even if circumstances force unexpected choices.
Speaking about Uber driving in the US, he said all this is happening due to severe financial difficulties that he is currently facing, as all his local bank accounts have been blocked. Suri told the media that he never imagined he would be driving a ride-hailing vehicle after serving in high political office. However, he said he preferred honest labour over compromising his principles.

“I chose to stay honest instead of taking the easy way out,” Suri said, stressing that integrity and self-respect matter more than wealth or status.
His remarks have sparked widespread discussion on social media, where many users praised his stance. Comments such as “It’s rizq-e-halal, and we should be proud if our earnings come through halal means, Alhamdulillah” and “Dignity resides in honest work. Times change, but resolve does not” reflected public support for his decision.
Despite personal and financial challenges, Suri reaffirmed his loyalty to his political ideals, saying his commitment to justice and political rights in Pakistan remains unchanged.
