After captivating fans with its faithful adaptation of The Sea of Monsters, Percy Jackson and the Olympians is gearing up for its highly anticipated third season on Disney+. As the young demigod Percy Jackson (played by Walker Scobell) continues to navigate the world of gods, monsters, and prophecies, the series moves closer to adapting The Titan’s Curse, the third book in Rick Riordan’s beloved series.
With the show’s popularity skyrocketing, it’s no surprise that fans are eagerly awaiting the next installment. And while an official release date is still under wraps, there’s hope that the wait for Season 3 will be shorter than the two-year gap that separated Seasons 1 and 2.
PERCY JACKSON SEASON 3 RELEASE DATE
Though Disney+ has yet to confirm an exact premiere date for the third season, production has been moving quickly. Thanks to an early renewal from the streaming platform, filming began in the summer of 2025, and by January 2026, the team is already in the final stages. While there’s no official word yet, it’s looking like Season 3 could arrive in late 2026 or early 2027, with some hoping for a quicker turnaround of around 18 months.
Rick Riordan, the series’ author and executive producer, expressed his excitement over the new season, teasing a thrilling journey that will introduce some fan-favorite characters. “It’s a huge sign of commitment from Disney, and speaks volumes about how the fandom has embraced the series,” Riordan shared in a statement. “This season will open new doors with characters like the Hunters of Artemis and Nico di Angelo making their debut.”
NEW FACES AND RETURNING HEROES: PERCY JACKSON SEASON 3 CAST
Returning for the third season are the core group of young heroes: Walker Scobell as Percy, Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth, and Aryan Simhadri as Grover. But they won’t be alone—Season 3 will feature several exciting new cast members, adding depth and drama to the world of Percy Jackson.
Notably, Dafne Keen (His Dark Materials, Logan) will join the cast as Artemis, the goddess whose kidnapping sets the stage for the season’s events. She’ll be joined by Holt McCallany (The Lincoln Lawyer) as Atlas, the Titan responsible for Artemis’ abduction.
Additionally, fans can look forward to seeing SNL star Kate McKinnon bring her comedic flair to the role of Aphrodite, the goddess of love. Other newcomers include Jesse L. Martin (The Flash) as Annabeth’s father, Frederick, and Saara Chaudry (The Muppets Mayhem) as Zoë Nightshade, a key figure in the Hunters of Artemis. David Costabile (Billions) will also appear as Dr. Thorn, a villain set to clash with Percy and his friends.
THE PLOT: THE TITAN’S CURSE BRINGS NEW CHALLENGES
Based on The Titan’s Curse, the third book in Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson series, the season will see Percy embarking on a perilous rescue mission. The plot revolves around the disappearance of a powerful goddess, the looming threat of war between the Greek gods and the Titans, and a mysterious beast that could bring Mount Olympus to its knees.
As with the previous seasons, the adaptation will stay close to the source material, much to the delight of fans. Percy and his friends will find themselves in a race against time, with the added tension of a prophecy that predicts not all of them will survive the coming battle.
“I think Season 3 is going to be the most accurate adaptation we’ve done so far,” Walker Scobell shared in a recent interview, hyping up the new episodes. “The book is just perfect for breaking up into eight episodes. It really works, and I think fans will love it.”
LOOKING AHEAD: WHAT’S NEXT FOR PERCY JACKSON?
The upcoming third season is not just about scaling new heights of adventure; it’s also a testament to the series’ ability to stay true to its roots. As the characters grow and the stakes rise, Percy Jackson and the Olympians continues to attract new generations of fans while honoring its loyal following.
With its blend of action, mythology, and heart, Season 3 promises to deliver a captivating new chapter in Percy’s journey. So while the wait for The Titan’s Curse may not be over yet, fans can take comfort in knowing that more magic, monsters, and mayhem are on the way.
