WEB DESK: In a strongly worded social media post, former senator Faisal Vawda issued a stern warning, declaring that the visitation and legal access rights of incarcerated political figures will be severely restricted. Vawda claimed that family and legal meetings, which are constitutionally protected, are being used to relay political messages and must be stopped.
He stated that from now on, any family visits or lawyer consultations found to contain political discourse, particularly regarding the country’s armed forces and its leadership, would be terminated. “The filth of the mind that conspires to destabilise the country and defame the army without justification will be strictly curbed,” Vawda warned, adding that those who “talk nonsense” would be silenced forcefully.
Announcing a policy of “double response,” Vawda declared that while respect would be met with double respect, “hooliganism will be answered with double hooliganism.” He accused a political party of provocation and claimed there was now “no way back,” promising to bring all pending cases to a “logical conclusion.”
In his most direct threat, Vawda cautioned that if the provincial chief minister created “any more fuss,” the remaining political activity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be ended through the imposition of Governor’s Rule. He also issued a warning to individuals linked to the events of May 9, telling them to “watch out” as official notifications were being prepared for enforcement.
His views came following the meeting of incarcerated former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan with his sister Uzma Khan on Tuesday.
