ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Friday said that former spymaster Faiz Hameed never issued any instructions to the party.
He also stated that PTI has no connection with Hameed’s arrest, adding that the matter should not be politicised.
He added that the Pakistan Army is a robust and disciplined institution with its own code of conduct. It is the responsibility of the relevant authorities to decide whether to put a retired or serving officer on trial for any allegations.
He further said that this is an internal matter and should not be exaggerated.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan on Thursday criticised the military’s treatment of the country’s former spymaster, calling him an “asset” that was wasted.
Speaking informally to journalists at Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, Imran said the military’s investigation into Faiz Hameed is their “internal matter” and does not concern him. However, he noted that holding the former DG ISI accountable is positive but suggested accountability should be across the board.
