ISLAMABAD: An investigation has revealed the emergence of a secret foreign passport belonging to Farhat Shehzadi alias Farah Gogi, a close friend and confidante of the former First Lady, Bushra Bibi.
The revelation suggests that in order to conceal alleged embezzled funds and facilitate money laundering, a clandestine international passport from a little-known country, Vanuatu, was arranged for Farah Gogi.
Farah Gogi’s assets swell by Rs 4,520 million during PTI tenure
Allegedly, as per sources, in December 2021, anticipating the possible success of a motion of no confidence against the Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, Bushra Bibi allegedly tasked the son of a prominent property tycoon in the country to procure a covert international passport for their front person, Farah Gogi. The said property tycoon purportedly paid $130,000 to another trader to create a secret passport.
Investigative sources claim that this Vanuatu passport was provided to Farah Gogi to conceal embezzled funds and money laundering, handed over to Bushra Bibi on March 28, 2020.
Six days prior to the PTI government’s departure on April 3, 2022, Farah Gogi was allegedly sent away from Pakistan on a Pakistani passport to Dubai, only to conduct the rest of her travels using the Vanuatu passport, aiming to evade scrutiny from investigative agencies.
Reports indicate that using this passport, Farah Gogi, toured various countries to stash her alleged amassed wealth in different parts of the world.
The sources further claim that the overt and covert wealth of Farah Gogi increased to Rs4,520 million in a short period.
