ABBOTTABAD: A tragic incident in Kaghan Colony, Abbottabad, has left the city in shock after a father allegedly poisoned his three children and injured his wife, after incurring loss in online trading.
The police have registered a case against the accused, identified as Kashif, under multiple sections, including murder. According to the FIR filed at Mirpur Police Station, Kashif poisoned his children following financial difficulties, reportedly linked to losses in online trading.
The three minor children died on the spot, while their mother sustained severe head injuries after being stabbed by Kashif and was shifted to Ayub Medical Complex for treatment. Both Kashif and his wife are currently under medical care.
Police teams reached the scene immediately after the incident, took the bodies into custody, and launched an investigation. Authorities stated that they are examining all aspects of the case to determine the exact circumstances and motive behind the tragic event.
Local residents expressed deep shock and grief, raising questions about whether the incident resulted from financial stress, domestic disputes, or mental health issues. Social circles have called for a transparent and impartial investigation and urged authorities to ensure strict legal action against those responsible to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
A video circulating on social media reportedly shows Kashif discussing his financial losses in online trading and naming a person called Qari, who allegedly took Rs 10 million by selling Kashif’s house in Kaghan Colony. Police have formed a team to locate Qari as part of the ongoing investigation, which may shed further light on the case.
The incident has sparked widespread reflection in the community about the impact of financial pressures and mental health issues.
