RANIPUR: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) has handed over Pir Fayyaz Shah, co-accused in the murder case of child maid Fatima Phuriro in Ranipur, Khairpur to police on a five-day physical remand.

Pir Fayyaz Shah has consistently asserted that Fatima died due to illness, and he and his family members vehemently deny any involvement in the case. He contends that they are the targets of political persecution.

The matter first gained attention with the emergence of a distressing video showing Fatima’s body exhibiting signs of severe torture. The video depicted the young girl attempting to sit up on her bed but eventually succumbing to her injuries.
