ISLAMABAD: Session court has handed former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry over to the police on two days physical remand on Sunday morning.
This development marks the resolution of the mystery surrounding his whereabouts.
Earlier Hiba Fawad, the wife of former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry had expressed her concerns over the unexplained disappearance of her husband.
She revealed that despite his sudden arrest, Fawad has not been presented in any court, and no formal case or First Information Report (FIR) has surfaced to shed light on his situation.
On Sunday morning however Fawad Ch was brough to the Judicial Court Complex amidst high security.
The arrest followed a complaint lodged by a man named Zaheer, who had filed a First Information Report (FIR) accusing Fawad Chaudhry of defrauding him.
Zaheer claimed that Fawad Chaudhry had promised to secure him a job in exchange for a sum of Rs 5 million, which the former minister failed to fulfill.
When Zaheer sought the return of his money, Fawad Chaudhry allegedly not only refused but also threatened him.
In light of his arrest, Fawad Chaudhry requested the court to grant him visitation rights to his family and lawyer, on which Duty Judge Abbas Shah allowed Fawad Chaudhary to meet the lawyers.
The police sought five day remand of Fawad Ch but the court ruled for two days physical remand.
Earlier Fawad Ch was brought to the court in handcuffs and a cloth over his face.
