FBR office to remain open on Sunday for tax return submissions


The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) announced that its offices will remain open on Sunday (today) to faciliate the submission of business tax returns ahead of the impeding deadline.

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) announced that its offices will remain open on Sunday (today) to faciliate the submission of business tax returns ahead of the impeding deadline.

The final date for filing income tax returns on the FBR portal is Monday, September 30. The FBR has confirmed that the deadline will not be extended.

As Monday marks the last day for submission, many citizens have reported difficulties accessing the FBR’s online portal. This led to concerns about being able to file tax returns on time

In response, FBR sources have indicated that they are working to resolved the technical errors and glitches affecting the website. This will ensure all taxpayers have the opportunity to submit their returns without missing the deadline.

The FBR’s decision to keep offices open on Sunday aims to provide additional support to taxpayers during the critical deadline.

Despite the challenges faced by many citizens, the FBR has reiterated that the September 30 deadline for tax return submissions will remain.

The Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, along with the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, voiced their concerns regarding the submission process.

They formally requested  an extension of one month for the filing of tax returns, citing the technical issues and accessibility challenges that has hindered many from completing their submissions in a timely manner.
