FBR to block mobile SIM cards of non-filers

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to block mobile SIM cards and phones belonging to those who haven’t filed their tax returns.

More than 500,000 individuals have been pinpointed for their failure to submit tax returns.

FBR has directed the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and mobile operators to execute this measure.

The list consists of individuals who are obligated to pay income tax but haven’t fulfilled this obligation. Their services can be reinstated upon settling their outstanding taxes.
