Federal cabinet likely to approve national space policy

ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet is set to approve the national space policy in a meeting scheduled for Wednesday.
The policy, which will be presented by the Strategic Plan Division, aims to enhance the country’s capabilities in space exploration and development.
The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has crafted the preliminary version of the national space policy. A draft of the national space policy has been disseminated to various ministries for their input and feedback.
The cabinet will also discuss four summaries from the Ministry of National Health Services Regulations and Coordination, regarding the recognition of medical colleges and the establishment of a nursing university in Islamabad.
Other agenda items include a memorandum of understanding on bilateral political consultations with the Gambia, the termination of the managing director of the National Telecommunication Corporation, and the posting of a new managing director for the Korangi Fisheries Harbor Authority in Karachi.
The cabinet will also review the decisions taken by the Economic Coordination Committee and the CCLC earlier. The cabinet will also approve a summary by the interior minister on the evacuation of Afghans and relocation to foreign countries.
