ISLAMABAD: In a heartening move ahead of the festive season, the federal government has announced that December salaries and pensions for Christian federal employees and pensioners will be paid in advance this year. The payments are scheduled for December 22, just days before Christmas on December 25.

The Ministry of Finance issued an official directive to the Controller General of Accounts (CGA), instructing that all Christian employees and pensioners receive their dues ahead of the holiday. Officials said the initiative aims to provide timely financial support, enabling the community to prepare comfortably for their religious celebrations.

“This step is a reflection of the government’s commitment to interfaith harmony and the protection of minority rights,” a finance ministry spokesperson said.

The decision has been warmly welcomed by the Christian community. Federal employees and pensioners expressed gratitude, noting that the early payments will help ease financial pressures and allow them to make festive arrangements with peace of mind.

As Christmas approaches, this gesture highlights an effort to ensure that celebrations are joyful and stress-free for all citizens, reinforcing the spirit of inclusivity and goodwill.
