ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI: The Federal Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced a major decision to implement a uniform prayer system across Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
In a recent meeting, ministry officials and religious scholars decided that the call to prayer (Azan) and congregational prayers will now be offered at the same time in all mosques of the twin cities. A calendar outlining the prayer timings and schedule will be issued soon.
Scholars have also agreed to prepare a unified list of topics for Friday sermons, focusing on the unity of the Ummah, societal reform, and guidance for the younger generation. Joint recommendations will also be made regarding mosque management, supervision, and security.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs will monitor the implementation of these recommendations, and legislation is planned to ensure the uniform prayer system is effectively enforced.
