SIALKOT: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration Wing Gujranwala foiled an attempt to smuggle 20 iPhones into Pakistan after arresting a passenger arriving from Dubai on an international flight.

According to the FIA officials, the accused, identified as Muhammad Shoaib Raza, had traveled from the UAE to Sialkot and was intercepted during immigration clearance due to his suspicious travel history. Officers handed him over to the shift in-charge for further inspection.

A thorough search led to the recovery of 20 high-end iPhones, which the suspect had skillfully concealed inside clothing in an attempt to evade detection. During the preliminary investigation, the accused admitted to having made multiple trips to the UAE from various airports this year, raising further suspicion about his activities.

The seized mobile phones were taken into custody, and the suspect has been transferred to the FIA Composite Circle Gujranwala for additional legal proceedings.

Authorities say further investigation is underway, with officials vowing to continue strict action against smuggling attempts through regional airports.
