Field Marshal Asim Munir leads GHQ ceremony commemorating Marka-e-Haq victory

General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Saturday held a solemn ceremony to mark the first anniversary of the Marka-e-Haq, honoring the sacrifices of martyrs and reaffirming the armed forces’ commitment to Pakistan’s sovereignty and stability.

The commemorative event began with a visit to the Martyrs’ Memorial (Yadgar-e-Shuhada) by Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu and Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, who laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha for the soldiers who lost their lives in defense of the country.

The ceremony paid tribute to the courage and dedication of those remembered for their role in what officials described as a defining chapter in Pakistan’s recent history.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) also laid flowers at the memorial. Senior military officials, veterans, and families of martyrs attended the event, which was marked by patriotic songs and the national anthem.

Field Marshal Asim Munir is also addressing participants, accentuating the enduring sacrifices of the martyrs and reiterating the armed forces’ resolve to counter threats to national security and stability.
