WEB DESK: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held a high-level meeting with Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Council Ali Larijani, focusing on bilateral cooperation and regional security matters, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Tuesday.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on ways to further strengthen Pakistan-Iran relations, with Field Marshal Munir reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to peace and stability in the region. He emphasised the importance of close collaboration with Iran in countering terrorism and stressed that such cooperation is crucial to address evolving security challenges.
The army chief also highlighted the increasing significance of strategic cooperation in light of the changing geopolitical landscape, underlining the need for continued engagement between the two countries’ security and defense establishments.
The discussion reflected shared interests in regional stability, security coordination, and enhancing diplomatic and defense ties. Both officials agreed to continue dialogue and joint initiatives aimed at fostering mutual trust and addressing security threats along the shared border.
The meeting symbolises Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to maintain strong bilateral relations with neighboring countries while promoting a stable and secure regional environment.
