Field Marshal Asim Munir visits Lahore Garrison, commends troops’ readiness

WEB DESK:  Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, conducted a comprehensive visit to the Lahore Garrison on Thursday, where he was briefed on operational preparedness and reviewed training exercises, according to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The Corps Commander of Lahore welcomed the Field Marshal upon his arrival. During the visit, senior officers briefed him on ongoing measures to enhance the operational readiness, training, and combat capabilities of the formations stationed at the garrison.

Field Marshal Munir observed a special field training exercise, witnessing firsthand the high level of training and tactical proficiency of the troops. He later visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Lahore, where he inspected the state-of-the-art healthcare centre. He commended the medical and administrative staff for establishing fully modern and high-standard medical facilities.

The Chief of Defence Staff also inspected sports and recreational facilities provided for the troops, underscoring the importance of welfare and morale.

Addressing officers and troops, Field Marshal Munir emphasised the armed forces’ unwavering resolve to safeguard national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and internal stability. He reiterated a policy of “zero tolerance” against any threat to national security.

“The armed forces are promoting a culture of high standards, discipline, and selfless national service,” the Field Marshal stated. “With complete focus, professional skill, and strong resolve, the army will meet all multifaceted challenges.”

The visit concluded with the Field Marshal expressing his appreciation for the high morale and professional commitment of the troops stationed at one of Pakistan’s key military garrisons.
