WEB DESK: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, concluded a high-level official visit to Libya, meeting with Libyan Armed Forces Commander Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar. The visit also included a key defense-level discussion between Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Munir and Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar.
On arrival, Field Marshal Munir was received with a ceremonial guard of honor by the Libyan military, reflecting the significance of the visit. During the meetings, both sides engaged in detailed discussions on matters of mutual interest, regional security, and defense cooperation.
The two nations agreed to enhance military-level relations, focusing on training, capacity-building, and joint initiatives. Emphasis was placed on strengthening collaboration in counterterrorism operations, underscoring a shared commitment to regional stability.
Field Marshal Munir reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to further consolidate defense ties with Libya and expand military partnership based on shared strategic interests. In turn, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar lauded the professionalism and capabilities of the Pakistan Army and expressed Libya’s desire to deepen defense cooperation with Pakistan.

The visit highlighted a mutual commitment to expanding defense collaboration, fostering regional security, and promoting professional military engagement between Pakistan and Libya.
