ISLAMABAD: In a series of historic diplomatic engagements, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan, undertook official visits to Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia, reinforcing Pakistan’s position as a key player in regional security and defense cooperation among Muslim nations.

During the visits, the Field Marshal held high-level meetings with the Egyptian, Jordanian, and Saudi leaderships, who expressed complete confidence in the professionalism and capabilities of Pakistan’s armed forces. The discussions covered a broad spectrum of strategic issues, including counter-terrorism efforts, defense collaboration, and enhanced intelligence sharing.

The visits were widely described as a powerful symbol of military unity and solidarity among Muslim countries at a time of shifting geopolitical dynamics. Observers noted that Pakistan’s proactive military diplomacy under Field Marshal Munir is significantly contributing to the strengthening of inter-state defense partnerships and the promotion of regional stability.

Highlighting Pakistan’s pivotal role in regional and global security, the Field Marshal reiterated the importance of cooperative defense strategies and collective responses to emerging security challenges.
Following Pakistan’s decisive success in the Marka-e-Haq, the country is increasingly being recognised on the global stage for its firm and dignified identity, grounded in strength, resilience, and a commitment to peace.
Field Marshal Munir’s engagements in the Middle East have been hailed as a major stride in cementing Pakistan’s reputation as a trusted partner and an influential voice in the Muslim world.
PM IS ON A VISIT TO SAUDI ARABIA
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman in Riyadh, where they discussed regional and international matters.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, and senior members of both countries’ cabinets were also present during the meeting. During the meeting, both leaders discussed matters of mutual interest.
Earlier, PM Sharif is in Riyadh on a three-day visit to attend the 9th edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) conference.

The Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh brings together global leaders, investors, policymakers, and prominent figures from various sectors. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will represent Pakistan and share the country’s perspective on sustainable development, economic inclusion, innovation, and evolving global geopolitics.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have also signed a landmark Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement (SMDA) which said that “any aggression against either country shall be considered an aggression against both”.
