WASHINGTON: FIFA has opened the final ticket sales phase for the 2026 World Cup in North America, giving the last three million fans a chance to buy tickets. The tournament runs from June 11 to July 19 across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Tickets are being sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and some may even be released on the same day as a match. Fans can visit the official website of the global footbal body where they will see an option related to “ticket” to register. Fans thereupn are required to wait on the queue page, and click the “Enter” button when the countdown ends, which will be available for just five minutes.

Nearly 7 million tickets are up for grabs across 16 stadiums for 104 matches, including 78 in the U.S. FIFA expects to break the all-time sales record of 3.5 million tickets set in 1994.

The ticketing process has faced criticism over high prices. Supporters groups like Football Supporters Europe (FSE) have complained about unfair practices, while FIFA argues that prices reflect massive global demand. A $60 ticket category for official supporters’ clubs sold out almost immediately.

FIFA will also reopen its official resale platform, though ticket prices there remain steep. In Canada and the US, sellers set their own prices, while in Mexico, reselling above the original price is banned.

With only three million tickets left, fans must act fast to secure their place at the biggest football festival of 2026.
