FIR registered against individuals involved in Ichhra Bazaar incident

On Friday, the Lahore police filed a First Information Report (FIR) against individuals who had harassed a woman wearing a shirt with Arabic-script print a few days ago in Ichhra Bazaar, Lahore.

According to Dawn, the Ichhra police have filed an FIR against numerous suspects, including those who raised religious slogans, exacerbating the situation and posing a threat to the woman’s life.

The FIR has been sealed by the police, he mentions, stating that the case has been forwarded to the investigation wing of the Lahore police for further action in accordance with the law.

An official indicates that senior police officials faced significant pressure to refrain from lodging an FIR against the suspects and to avoid potential confrontation with certain religious groups known for engaging in violent protests in the past.
