WEB DESK: Spain strengthened their hopes of reaching the FIFA World Cup final after Pedro Porro doubled their lead against France in the 58th minute, shortly after the highly anticipated semifinal resumed for the second half.

Spain had already entered the break with a 1–0 advantage thanks to Mikel Oyarzabal’s 22nd-minute penalty. Porro then produced another crucial moment after the restart, giving Spain a 2–0 lead and putting them in a commanding position.
