Anticipated insights from astronomy expert Ibrahim Al Jarwan suggest that the first day of Ramadan in Saudi Arabia is likely to commence on March 11, 2024.
Al Jarwan, serving as the chairman of the board of the Emirates Astronomy Society, made this prediction based on astronomical calculations.
If Ramadan begins on March 11 in Saudi Arabia that means in Pakistan it is also likely to fall on March 11 or March 12.
In an interesting turn, Al Jarwan also pointed out that winters in Saudi Arabia are expected to initiate on December 22 and conclude on March 20. This sets the stage for Ramadan to unfold during the winter season for the first time in 26 years, a phenomenon expected to persist until 2031.
The daily fasts during Ramadan span from sunrise to sunset, with varying durations across different parts of the world. For Saudi Arabia this year, each roza is estimated to last between 13 and 15 hours, adding a unique dimension to the fasting experience.
The commencement of Ramadan on March 11 also holds implications for the celebration of Eid-ul Fitar, which is anticipated to fall around April 10 or 11. As the holy month approaches, the faithful eagerly await the start of Ramadan and the meaningful observance of fasting, prayer, and reflection.
