Five Pakistanis placed in top $80,000 bracket for ILT20 auction

The DP World International League T20 (ILT20) Season 5 players auction will take place on Thursday, October 1, at the ICC Academy Indoor facility in Dubai, with five Pakistani cricketers placed in the highest base-price category.

Babar Azam, Sahibzada Farhan, Usman Tariq, Fakhar Zaman and Naseem Shah have been listed in the $80,000 base-price category.

Maaz Sadaqat, Shadab Khan, Hunain Shah and Hasan Nawaz have been placed in the $40,000 category.

More than 200 players from 23 countries have been shortlisted for the auction. The players have been divided into three base-price brackets of $80,000, $40,000 and $10,000.

The player pool features cricketers from 11 ICC Full Member nations, ILT20 partner countries Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, as well as 10 other Associate Member nations.

Players from the UAE, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia will enter the auction at a base price of $10,000.

The $80,000 category also includes Du Plessis, Tom Banton, Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone.

Each franchise will have an auction purse of $1.3 million, along with any funds remaining from pre-signings.

Franchises must have a minimum of 18 and a maximum of 23 players in their squads, with at least 11 players required to be from ICC Full Member countries.

Teams can also use one Right to Match option on a UAE player who either represented them in ILT20 Season 4 or played for the franchise in the recently concluded ILT20 Development Tournament.

Any replacement players must have registered for the Season 5 auction. Players who withdraw on or before October 1 will not be eligible as replacements or Wildcards.

For every match, playing XIs must include at least two UAE players, two Afghanistan players and one additional Associate Member player.

The final Associate Member slot can be filled by another UAE player or a cricketer from an Associate Member nation, including Kuwait or Saudi Arabia.
