A new Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued for Islamabad International Airport, temporarily restricting commercial flight operations during a specific window on March 16.
According to the Pakistan Airports Authority, six sectors within the Lahore Flight Information Region will be temporarily closed on the day as part of the airspace management plan.
Under the directive, commercial flights will not be allowed to land or take off at Islamabad airport between 8:00am and 10:30am.
Aircraft advised to carry extra fuel
The authority said aircraft already in the air during the restricted period may have to remain in holding patterns until landing clearance is granted.
Airline captains have therefore been instructed to carry additional fuel during flights to account for possible delays.
The temporary suspension of operations is part of airspace control measures affecting selected sectors of Pakistan’s aviation network on March 16.
